Linda Smith

I was sorry to hear of the death, at 48, of Linda Smith. She was a delightfully funny participant in many radio programmes and it was always a pleasure to hear her.

A couple of years ago she took part in the BBC radio series “Devout Sceptics”, and made it clear that she was a lot more sceptical than devout — not devout at all, in fact. She was firmly of the view that there should be no no-go areas for satire. I just went back to the Listen Again page on the BBC and did just that. If you haven’t heard it yet I suggest you do.
