Legalisation of drugs

I haven't posted here for some time, mainly because I've been using all the moments I have to work on a book I'm trying to write. But I did want to mention how pleased I am to to see that the Chief Constable of North Wales, Richard Brunstrom, says that the "war on drugs" can't be won and we should legalise their use. Now Lord Ramsbotham, former chief inspector of prisons, agrees.

I've thought this for a long time myself. It's prohibition in the USA all over again. The war on drugs makes as much sense as the war on terror, which is not much. It hardly needs saying that the Home Office "is emphatically opposed".
